European Council on Refugees and Exiles: Part-time Legal Officer

The European Council on Refugees and Exiles (ECRE) is recruiting a 16-month part-time position (50%) at its Brussels Office for a Legal Officer to work on its research project on the concepts of Actors of Protection and the Internal Protection Alternative. The Oxford Department of Social Policy and Intervention and the Refugee Studies Centre (within the Department of International Development) invites applications for a Research Assistant to work on a project exploring transitions to adulthood of former unaccompanied children in Europe. Freedom from Torture: Law and Policy Officer

Freedom from Torture seeks to engage a Law and Policy Officer to drive forward their work to improve the legal and policy protections for torture survivors in the UK as asylum seekers and refugees through policy and advocacy work, including strategic litigation if necessary, drawing on learning from Freedom from Torture’s clinical service provision, research and legal and welfare advice service. Asylum Access: Consultant Legal Researcher

Asylum Access is currently recruiting for a Consultant Legal Researcher, to contribute to two exciting new research projects running between January and June 2013. Applicants should either be a UK qualified solicitor or barrister, with 3 years experience of UK immigration, asylum and nationality law AND/OR an experienced legal researcher, with an LLM, MPhil or higher and significant experience of conducting detailed legal research in UK immigration, asylum and nationality law. Exeter University: Research Fellow

The College wishes to recruit a Research Fellow to support Dr. Nick Gill’s investigation into disparities in asylum appeal success rates at different courts around the UK. They will work at Exeter University for most of the post but will also conduct a 3-month ethnography of an immigration court in the UK and another 6-month detailed observation of a different court in the UK, living away from Exeter for a total of 9 months out of the 36 month post.
